Spirit Lover

In the wind I heard him calling, in a silent silken scream...
I was awakened in the middle of the night, or was it just a dream...
The moon was cloaked in silence as I felt the cool caress
It was then that I saw his face, and felt the longing kiss...
His face was that of someone from another time another place-
I was frozen to the moment, in an everlasting embrace.
He seemed to drain the life right out of me, but I could not resist,
I tried in vain to call out to him, but only silence passed my lips....
He said he was from another life, and had been searching for so long-
that once we had been lovers-to me he had belonged...
As he wrapped herself around me, I felt my emotions rise,
and we began the conjugation, with a fire in our eyes.
On the walls the shadows melted, and two became as one-
I knew then my spirit lover was truly the only one.
Then he knelt above me and I felt a falling tear,
and he smiled a sad smile, then whispered in my ear:
"Forget me never love, for me it's time to go-
next time we're together, it will be forevermore".
Then he turned away, and I was alone again.
I wondered if it was just a dream, til I touched my cheek and felt a fallen tear.

A Soft Place To Fall

I can't promise you roads

Paved out of Gold

Nor Tommorrows without

Sorrow or woes

But I can promise you this

That through it all

I'll always be there

A soft place to fall

I can't guarantee Sunshine

Each day you arise

I can't tell you it won't be

Yet one more trial

But I can guarantee this

You won't walk it through alone

Yes you'll always have

A soft place to fall

I can't assure that tommorrow

Will bring riches or fame

I can't promise a future

Without any pain

But one thing I swear

Till the end of it all

You'll always have this

A soft place to fall.

What I love about the web is the opportunity to share my thoughts with others. But I also like to hear what others think and to exchange ideas.

On this page, I'll share some of the comments I've received in my guestbook and via e-mail. Where appropriate, I'll include a link to the original article, review, or interview that provoked the comment. In some cases, I also may respond to the comments.

After awhile you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn that love doesn't mean possession
and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises and you begin to accept
your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build your roads today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight.
After awhile you learn that even sunshine
burns if you get too much so you plant your
own garden and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn...
